Oil prices rose on Tuesday, supported by the recovery of global stock markets after a sharp loss last week.

US West Texas Intermediate crude futures traded at $ 59.65 a barrel by 07:24 GMT (10:24 Moscow time), up 36 cents from the previous settlement.

Brent crude futures US $ 62.99 a barrel, up 40 cents from the previous settlement.

Global stock markets, especially the US, suffered heavy losses last week, causing confidence to wane in all markets. The three main indexes of US stocks rose on Monday, recording the biggest two days of gains since the end of June 2016.
